Universality
Universal is universal un name and in fact. Just a few
operations and a few seconds are required to transform
it into the specific version for left-handed operators
and the same to go back to the right-handed version.
The arm hinged under the chair allows a complete
movement of the instrument table behind the patient's
head. The chair can also reach a horizontal
operating-table position.
The Products
It is natural to expect perfect
ergonomics, quality and precision of movements,
intuitive and symmetrical controls, and top-quality
features from a high-range O.M.S unit belonging to the
S.P.R.I.D.O category. But Universal offers something
more: thanks to its characteristics, it works in

The
Instruments
In Universal, the mechanism that
guides the instrument from its resting to its working
position enables almost horizontal movement, avoiding
any interference with the lamp. The parts which are
more exposed to contamination, such as the instrument
support, are easily autoclavable. The instrument table
is anchored below, enabling precise, extremely light
movements.
The Controls
The arrangement of the control
allows the operator to act quickly and intuitively,
without diverting his attention from the patient. The
presence of double symmetrical controls on the
instrument table proves how easy is changing Universal
from a right into a left-handed unit. The blue display
permits an excellent visibility from every position.
The Assistant's Area
With Universal the assistant has
an ergonomic and complete working position like the
operator. The instrument table is equipped with a
large support surface, which can hold an instrument
tray, and double controls. The instrument table can
turn behind the chair for an easy replacement of
instruments. The spittoon is characterized by a 180o
movement and a safety device on the external position.
The Chair
The chair, with a structure
entirely made of aluminium, has 4 memories, "last
position" function, automatic reset, independent
Trendelenburg movement, and horizontal operating-table
position. The absence of the traditional pantograph
under the chair provides extra space for operating in
complete freedom. Last but not least, the chair can
turn 15o to the right or to the left. The
position of the chair and the dynamic instruments can
be easily operated by using the multi-function
footcontrol.
Features
The only version of Universal is
equipped with a full range of standard features. A few
accessories are also available, including the S.D.S.
disinfection system working with running, sterilized
or distilled water, which can also be mixed with
disinfectant.
